HUKM Development is seeking a Technical Product Manager in London to lead backend and API-driven product delivery. You will manage development pods, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and drive execution through agile delivery.

In this hands-on role, you’ll balance architecture decisions with client needs, ensuring the commercial rationale behind what gets built. Hybrid work with 1–2 days in the office weekly.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in technical product management for backend systems and APIs.
• Hands-on backend development experience.
• Experience leading agile delivery teams (pods).
• Strong RESTful API design, GraphQL, API versioning, microservices.
• Backend tech: Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.
• SQL and NoSQL data modelling.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD/DevOps practices.
• Authentication protocols: OAuth2, JWT, API security.
• API docs: Swagger/OpenAPI or Postman.
• Agile tooling: Jira, Azure DevOps, Linear.
• Able to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical product specs.
• Lead pods of 15–20 engineers to deliver backend/API initiatives.
• Define roadmaps, prioritise features, maintain backlogs.
• Design and document API specs, data models, and system architecture.
• Run sprint ceremonies and manage trade‑offs between value and technical debt.
• Ensure integration with frontend, DevOps, and stakeholders.
• Define and track product metrics and KPIs for backend systems.
