Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking an experienced SQL Server Architect to support a migration of an enterprise-scale SharePoint platform from on-premises to AWS. The initial eight-week Proof of Value will assess high availability, disaster recovery and performance options, with the potential to progress into detailed design through to end of 2026.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' Microsoft SQL Server architecture and engineering experience (SQL Server 2016+).
• Strong experience with Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI) and HA/DR solutions.
• Experience supporting large-scale SharePoint farms and SQL Server databases.
• Strong SQL Server performance tuning, storage optimisation and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of clustering, networking, DNS failover and disaster recovery design.
• Desirable: AWS EC2, EBS, FSx, Route 53, CloudWatch and AWS Backup.
• Desirable: Terraform/CloudFormation or PowerShell for automation.
• Desirable: Azure SQL HA/DR knowledge in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Support migration of SharePoint to AWS and assess HA, DR and performance options.
• Lead eight-week PV to evaluate SQL Server options and cost.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and AWS architects to validate scalable solutions.
