Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a West Midlands law firm for a locum Residential Property Solicitor. The role is a three-month engagement, starting immediately, with hybrid working between the West Midlands office and home.

You will manage a residential conveyancing caseload, handle sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity, work independently, and maintain client and lender communication to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor admitted in England and Wales
• Experience handling residential conveyancing matters
• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
• Sound knowledge of conveyancing practice, including leasehold matters
• Strong communication and client care skills
• Availability to start immediately
• Desirable: experience with case management and conveyancing systems

Responsibilities

• Manage a residential property caseload covering freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and remortgages
• Carry out due diligence, including title investigation, searches and enquiries, and report findings clearly to clients
• Draft and review contracts, transfer documents and related paperwork
• Deal with lender requirements and comply with the relevant lender handbooks
• Manage completions, including the transfer of funds, SDLT and registration at HM Land Registry
• Maintain regular contact with clients, estate agents, other solicitors and lenders
• Comply with anti-money laundering, SRA and firm compliance requirements
• Keep accurate file notes and records in line with the firm’s procedures
• Support colleagues and assist with the smooth handover of matters at the end of the contract
