Job summary

Maxwell Bond is partnering with a Manchester-based technology company to hire a Linux Infrastructure Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid with 2 days on site in Greater Manchester, focusing on maintaining Linux-based production infrastructure and supporting critical systems.

You will contribute to secure, stable and scalable operations, handling deployments, monitoring, and incident response while collaborating with the Operations team.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in Linux systems/infrastructure administration.
• Experience supporting production server environments, ideally across dedicated and/or virtual infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across availability, performance and reliability issues.
• Experience with monitoring, logs, metrics and alerting.
• Understanding of security, vulnerabilities and infrastructure risk.
• Experience with server deployments, configuration and patching.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A methodical approach to working within production environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Linux-based production infrastructure.
• Manage dedicated and virtual servers; support legacy VPN data capture platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents to ensure security, stability and performance.
