Job summary
Altro, a leading European manufacturer of premium flooring and wall cladding systems, seeks a Lead Engineer to shape future manufacturing capabilities. You will identify, evaluate and validate technologies, lead trials, and collaborate with external partners to drive sustainable, evidence-based investments.
The role is permanent and hybrid, based in Letchworth Garden City with regular global travel. You will influence strategic decisions across engineering, product development and operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience in manufacturing/process engineering.
- Ability to develop and maintain technology roadmaps.
- Experience evaluating new technologies and capital investments.
- Strong communication to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing capability roadmaps aligned to future needs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for performance and sustainability.
- Lead feasibility studies and pilot trials.
- Collaborate with suppliers, universities and partners.
- Translate technical data into clear senior-level recommendations.
- Define future process/equipment requirements for product innovation.
