Job summary

HelloKindred in the United Kingdom is seeking a Kotlin (or Java) Developer to join the DevX Standards and Controls team. You will work on Kotlin/Java web apps and APIs within a microservice architecture, across 2–3 applications. The role is hybrid (3 days in office) with BPSS clearance, and an anticipated contract end date of April 25, 2027.

You will design and implement backend features, collaborate across teams, and contribute to rapid, iterative delivery in a modern development stack.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Kotlin, or significant Java with willingness to learn Kotlin.
• Extensive experience with microservices and API design.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders to build and run products.
• Design, develop, and implement backend features with minor frontend work.
• Build APIs and microservices and maintain existing systems.
• Work in an Agile CI/CD environment delivering rapid iterations.
• Participate in peer reviews and testing with automated scripts.
• Use GitHub or Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence for collaboration.
