Job summary

PureGym is seeking an Interior Architectural Designer to lead the design of gym environments across multiple sites, coordinating with in-house architects and project teams. You will manage internal and external design elements end-to-end, ensuring brand compliance and a superior member experience.

The role blends remote work with site visits, requiring travel across the UK and internationally, and involves collaboration with Operations, Marketing and Finance to drive continuous improvement in

Qualifications

• Is confident using design software and practiced at creating technical drawings for design approvals and construction information
• An excellent communicator, with the ability to simply convey complex messages and influence at a senior level
• Ability to critique design detail, identify missed opportunities, spot quality issues on site and provide creative solutions independently
• Understands the practical implications of designing commercial environments and the required health and safety considerations
• Able to travel across the UK and internationally

Responsibilities

• Own external branding of sites in line with brand guidelines, manage design vs. budget, signage contractors and consent requirements
• Own the member experience from arrival to departure with respect to layouts, signage, decoration and lighting; evaluate site design requirements
• Coordinate design between equipment supplier, GC, M&E designer and other specialists for an optimal user experience
• Ensure designs adhere to format requirements and brand standards
• Convey creative ideas and gain stakeholder approval using AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and other visual aids
• Collaborate with in-house Architects to create drawing packages for all design and construction stages
• Work with Operations, Marketing, Facilities Management and Finance to align design goals
• Present design solutions to peers and senior stakeholders
• Identify areas for design improvement and cost reduction; implement improvements
• Contribute to gym format design standards and continuous improvement
• Act as ambassador for Group Property Development; represent PureGym internally and externally
• Ensure health and safety practices, including training, design risk assessments and on-site risk management
