Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police is seeking an Intelligence Assistant to collate, evaluate and share information to support policing priorities. You will handle intelligence from the public, witnesses and suspects, ensuring staff and officers have timely information to protect vulnerable people and investigate crime.

The role involves data analysis across multiple systems, identifying patterns and deciding on appropriate actions using the National Intelligence Model.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly motivated and able to work both on your own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Process and assess intelligence reports entering police systems and mailboxes.
• Check details are input correctly and update police systems.
• Conduct basic research, evaluate information and decide course of action.
• Act as initial point of contact for other forces, agencies and internal departments.
• Maintain and update information on PNC and LEDS relevant to Avon & Somerset Police.
• Ensure data accuracy and provide timely enquiries and data release in line with policy.
• Record and process new intelligence feeding into national requirements and support strategic priorities.
