Job summary

East Sussex County Council is seeking an Insurance Support Officer to help safeguard public resources through insurance, risk management and claims handling. You will maintain records, advise customers and liaise with brokers while gaining exposure to a broad insurance lifecycle.

You’ll work in a hybrid setup at County Hall Lewes, supported by a friendly team and opportunities to develop specialist knowledge across services used by thousands daily.

Qualifications

• RQF Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English Language.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 apps including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Proactive, professional approach and teamwork experience.

Responsibilities

• Support claims handling and maintain insurance records.
• Provide guidance to customers and liaise with insurers and brokers.
• Contribute to the full insurance lifecycle including policy management and data reporting.
• Offer insurance advice and support across services and assets.
