Job summary

West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking an Information Governance Officer to join our Legal and Governance team to support compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and related legislation.

You will work under the Data Protection Officer to ensure day-to-day information governance processes are delivered accurately, with casework, admin tasks and reporting to MCA boards.

Qualifications

• Experience in information governance, data protection or compliance environments.
• Understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOI and EIR.
• Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
• Experience managing administrative processes with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support completion of Subject Access Requests and FOI within statutory timeframes.
• Maintain information governance and data protection support logs.
• Prepare regular reports for MCA boards.
• Support DPIAs and risk mitigation activities.
• Support data breach/incident processes to minimise risk.
