Job summary

E.ON UK Assets Ltd seeks an IDNO Electrical Design Engineer to join a hybrid team with Derby as the base. The role focuses on reviewing ICP electrical design submissions for residential, EV, industrial and commercial schemes, and may include private wire projects.

You will ensure designs meet IDNO/DNO standards and support project delivery across HV and LV networks. You'll work with ICPs and developers to produce design guidance, perform studies, and verify land rights, contributing to safe,

Qualifications

Degree-qualified or HNC/HND in Electrical Power Systems/Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge of DNO and IDNO requirements including G81 standards.
Experience with HV/LV cable design, switchgear and protection schemes.
Understanding of HV/LV earthing and protection systems.
Strong knowledge of I&C, residential and EV grid connections.

Responsibilities

Review ICP electrical design submissions for IDNO asset adoption.
Perform cable capacity calculations, load flow, protection and earthing studies for HV/LV networks.
Provide design guidance to ICPs and developers.
Verify land rights requirements for IDNO assets.
Engage with ICPs/Developers to align with IDNO and DNO standards.
Produce concept and preliminary design solutions and guidance papers.
Coordinate with operations and auditing teams on project delivery.
Ensure designs comply with legislation, industry standards and SHEQ.
