Electrical Design Engineer – IDNO Grid & HV/LV

Job summary

E.ON is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to review and audit ICP electrical design submissions across residential, EV, industrial and commercial projects, and private wire networks.

You will assess designs for IDNO asset adoption, perform cable and protection studies, and provide technical guidance to customers while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and SHEQ requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Power Systems or Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with DNO/IDNO technical requirements, including G81 standards.
• Strong cable design and protection scheme knowledge for HV/LV schemes.

Responsibilities

• Review ICP designs for IDNO asset adoption and compliance.
• Design and review cable capacities, load flow, protection and earthing studies.
• Provide technical guidance to ICPs/customers and support tender teams.
• Verify land rights requirements for IDNO assets.
• Engage with ICPs/Developers to ensure standards compliance.
• Produce concept/design guidance papers for customers.
• Ensure designs meet CDM and SHEQ requirements.
