Job summary

University of Cambridge seeks individuals to support its National Supercomputing and AI research services. You will join Research Computing Services, delivering first line support, user administration and problem diagnosis for a world‑leading HPC infrastructure.

Candidates should be proactive, strong communicators, and eager to learn AI/HPC or research software. The role offers hybrid working, a generous pension, and opportunities to influence work practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical problem solving.
• Knowledge in Linux system administration, scripting, automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet), version control, cloud technologies e.g. OpenStack or VMware.
• Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• An interest in AI, HPC or Research Software is essential but not required to have experience in these fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide first line support for a diverse range of Research computing IT services.
• Contribute to documentation, automation, training materials and events, and assist with reports and purchase orders to support researchers.
