Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Housing Options Officer for a 6-month contract in Nottinghamshire with a hybrid working pattern (Office 1 day per week, WFH 4 days). The role focuses on providing housing options advice and managing homelessness cases within a busy local authority environment.

You will require strong Housing Options experience and a solid working knowledge of Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, with responsibilities spanning case management, liaison with applicants and partners,

Qualifications

• Strong Housing Options experience is essential.
• Solid working knowledge of Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 is essential.
• Experience managing homelessness cases.
• Experience working within a local authority housing environment.
• Good understanding of homelessness legislation and housing duties.
• Strong case management and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage homelessness and housing options cases from initial assessment through to resolution.
• Provide clear and appropriate housing advice to applicants.
• Assess housing and homelessness circumstances in line with relevant legislation and local authority procedures.
• Apply Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 when assessing homelessness applications.
• Determine housing duties and appropriate housing options based on individual circumstances.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure decisions are properly documented.
• Work within statutory timescales and relevant local authority policies.
• Liaise with applicants, landlords, housing providers and other relevant services.
• Identify suitable housing solutions and make appropriate referrals where required.
• Manage a busy caseload while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
