Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Housing Officer to join the Resident Experience team in Brighton. You will build relationships with residents, give practical housing advice and manage a varied caseload across tenancy management, safeguarding and community wellbeing.

The role is full-time (35 hours/week) with hybrid working. You will be based at Courtney King House in Brighton two days per week, with the remainder spent working remotely and travelling across Brighton & Hove, Crawley and Lewes

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or social housing environments is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy enforcement processes and relevant legislation.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-void inspections and property viewings to reduce void times.
• Manage tenancy enforcement, including serving notices and attending court as needed.
• Lead neighbourhood inspections to improve estate standards and wellbeing.
• Support income recovery by working with the Income Team on rent/service charge collection.
• Ensure health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and statutory inspections.
