Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a Highway Technician to support planning, design and delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects across Salford. You will work with engineers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, resilient highway networks.

The role requires an ONC/Level 3 in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with experience in highway schemes and the ability to prepare drawings, schedules and technical documentation. Flexible/hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure environments.
• Ability to investigate issues and develop practical solutions.
• Experience preparing drawings, schedules, specifications and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects at all stages of development.
• Undertake site investigations, surveys and condition assessments.
• Assist with drawings, cost estimates, schedules, specifications and reports.
• Contribute to coordinated and buildable highway designs.
