Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a motivated Highway Asset Management Technician to support planning, design and delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects across the city. You will work with engineers, contractors and stakeholders to move projects from feasibility through to construction while ensuring safety and resilience of Salford's highway network.

Qualifications

• Requires ONC/Level 3 in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to investigate issues and develop practical solutions.
• Good communication and organisational skills, with ability to manage priorities and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects through all development stages.
• Undertake site investigations, surveys, measurements and condition assessments.
• Assist with preparation of drawings, cost estimates, schedules, specifications and reports.
• Support production of coherent, buildable highway designs.
• Assist with procurement and contract administration, including tender documentation.
• Carry out site visits and supervision of construction works to monitor quality and safety.
• Maintain accurate project and asset records for governance and asset management.
• Work in line with legislation, standards and safety requirements.
