Job summary

Better Placed partners with a fast-growing marketing agency in London to recruit a Group Financial Controller who will own the finance function, lead a small central team and partner with the CEO on strategic decisions.

The role combines financial control and commercial finance, covering budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash management, and potential acquisitions as the Group scales.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong financial control and management accounting fundamentals.
• Experience leading a small finance team in a growing SME or group.
• Proven ability to manage multi-entity reporting and intercompany balances.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with cloud-based finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end process and provide clear, commercially useful reporting.
• Develop MI covering revenue, margins, costs, and client performance.
• Oversee consolidated reporting across entities and intercompany balances.
• Partner with CEO on planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Maintain cash flow visibility and working capital management.
• Oversee transactional finance: billing, payments, payroll, banking.
• Lead and develop a small finance team and drive process improvements.
• Drive automation to improve speed and accuracy of financial information.
