Job summary

South West Community Chaplaincy is seeking a Grants Manager to lead our Preservation and Conservation programme from Somerset House, London. You will advise applicants, assess proposals, complete due diligence, and present papers for board decisions, while managing grants post-award.

You will build trusted relationships with small, volunteer-led organisations, analyze data in grant databases, and contribute to learning and impact work. This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role with travel.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ grant-making experience in the heritage sector.
• Strong knowledge of heritage funding and policy.
• Analytical and numerate with data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end grant-making for preservation and conservation programmes.
• Advise applicants, assess proposals and perform due diligence.
• Prepare papers for decision-making and present at Board meetings.
• Manage grants post-award and maintain accurate databases.
• Build relationships with applicants and grantees, including small, volunteer-led organisations.
• Contribute to learning and impact work and improve processes.
