Job summary

Midea UK is seeking a meticulous General Ledger Accountant to join the Finance team in Manchester. You will manage the general ledger, perform month-end close, and support accruals, prepayments and budgeting processes.

The role is hybrid with the Head of Finance UK oversight. The successful candidate will have a accounting degree, professional qualification progress (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT Level 4 preferred), strong UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and proficiency in Sage/Xero/SAP/Oracle/NetSuite with

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
• Fully qualified or actively studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT Level 4 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS and current financial regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage, Xero, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily general ledger entries and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balances and reconciliations.
• Support VAT returns and Corporation Tax filings; liaise with auditors.
