Suffolk County Council is recruiting a Remediation Officer within Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service's Protection Team to improve fire safety across the built environment. You will support remediation projects on higher-risk buildings and help ensure compliance with fire safety legislation.

Based in Lowestoft with hybrid working, you will provide expert advice to housing providers, developers and building owners, conduct risk assessments and inspections, and promote best practice in protection

Qualifications

• Experience or qualifications in fire safety, fire engineering, regulatory enforcement, building safety, or remediation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Membership of a relevant professional body such as IFE desirable.

Responsabilités

• Act as a specialist officer for remediation projects, tall buildings, and higher-risk residential premises.
• Assess remediation strategies and fire safety improvement programmes for compliance.
• Review fire engineering solutions and building safety measures.
• Conduct fire safety inspections, audits and assessments across premises.
• Evaluate fire risk assessments and adequacy of safety arrangements.
• Provide specialist advice and support to housing providers, developers, and owners.
• Support investigations and contribute to enforcement where needed.
• Collaborate with building control bodies and emergency partners.
• Deliver presentations and training to promote fire safety and compliance.
