Job summary

Loungers is seeking a Financial Accountant to lead the finance-system transformation from our Bristol HQ, with one day from home. You’ll own capex, fixed assets, rent accounting and support statutory reporting, audits and consolidation, while driving efficiency through process improvements and IFRS transition work.

Working with the Financial Controller, you’ll review policies, implement new procedures, mentor junior colleagues, and partner with other teams to deliver robust financial controls in

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with strong technical knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets
• Hospitality/retail experience is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Support the transition of fixed asset, rent and lease accounting to the new finance system.
• Review fixed asset policies and propose improvements.
• Support process improvements across rent and fixed asset accounting.
• Assist with IFRS 16 calculations and lease provisions under IAS 17.
• Oversee the fixed asset register and period-end reporting.
• Take responsibility for rent reporting and P&L postings.
• Assist with statutory accounting requirements, audits and year-end consolidation.
• Prepare submissions for government bodies and the ONS.
• Take responsibility for monthly and annual management accounts for subsidiaries.
• Provide ad hoc tax support (VAT, capital allowances and corporation tax).
