Job summary

Vertex Associates is partnering with a leading engineering and design business to recruit a Finance Manager (Project Accounting) on a permanent basis. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office each week, with responsibility for project accounting controls and financial analysis.

The role focuses on driving performance analysis, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration across multiple projects in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in a fast paced international engineering or construction consultancy.
• Experience of WIP and project accounting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong customer service ethic.
• Highly analytical with attention to detail.
• Structured and organised, team player.
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP (EBS, Oracle) desirable.
• Experience in dealing with projects in different currencies.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly results and analyze metrics to drive performance.
• Act as main point of contact for stakeholders and promote best practices.
• Maintain and manage the risk register; escalate issues as required.
• Attend project and business reviews for all projects within the cost centre.
• Provide training and supervision to Project Accountants.
• Lead project controls such as cost estimation, earned value management, and budgeting.
• Collaborate with project managers to capture risks and opportunities.
• Oversee invoicing and client budgeting processes.
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting for project portfolios.
