Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an experienced ESOL Tutor to teach learners whose first language is not English in Islington, North London. The role features a hybrid timetable with 2 hours in a classroom and the remainder online, and starts ASAP on a short/long-term contract.

Ideal candidates hold QTS and have ESOL teaching experience; TEFL/CELTA or ESOL qualifications are advantageous. DBS and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential for the role.
• Experience teaching ESOL is highly desirable.
• TEFL/CELTA or ESOL qualification is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of language acquisition and ESOL teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver ESOL lessons across Entry Level to Level 2.
• Carry out initial and ongoing assessment of learners' English skills.
• Prepare learners for ESOL qualifications and exams.
• Track progress and maintain learning plans and records.
• Adapt resources for mixed-ability groups and diverse backgrounds.
• Support learners with everyday English and employability skills.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
