Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Curriculum Lead to shape and lead English language provision across the county. You will oversee design, delivery and continuous improvement of an ambitious ESOL curriculum that supports learner success, aligns with local labour market priorities and maximises funding opportunities.

You will provide effective leadership to a team of ESOL tutors, ensuring high quality teaching and learning and strong outcomes for learners at all levels in community

Qualifications

• Minimum level 4 teaching qualification (CET/CTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience in curriculum leadership including planning, QA, learner journey.
• Understanding of benefits monitoring, risk management and mitigation.
• Experience of funding models and related admin tasks and statutory responsibilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with partners and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret legislation/guidance and produce clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Curriculum leadership and manage a team of tutors.
• Lead development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited ESOL provision.
• Contribute to safeguarding practices.
• Track, monitor and report on progress against targets.
• Improve learner journey with Adult Learning colleagues.
• Contribute to marketing and promotion of the programme.
• Produce and present progress reports to Senior Officers, government bodies, partners and stakeholders; support audits and contract monitoring visits.
