Job summary

Amentum is recruiting an Environmental Engineer for the Hinkley Point C project. You will be part of the CommOps Industrial and Fire Safety professionals team and report to the Commissioning Environment Lead.

You will develop and implement Environmental Safety controls, monitor environmental activities, and produce performance reports to minimise our environmental impact while supporting regulatory compliance across the HPC commissioning programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in an Environment-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills for wide internal networks.
• Experience with environmental compliance in regulated industries.
• Experience writing or reviewing environmental specifications and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of UK environmental permitting and waste management frameworks.
• Knowledge of groundwater, surface water and soil assessment and monitoring.
• Ability to present complex data clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to provide practical environmental advice and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and improve Environmental Safety controls across the commissioning programme.
• Coordinate and review Environmental activities per HPC Safety Management System and CommOps plans.
• Produce environmental safety performance reports with trends and recommendations.
• Engage with the commissioning programme on environmental issues and risks.
• Support regulatory interfaces and risk-based assessments.
• Provide assurance on compliance with legal duties and internal standards.
• Collaborate with Health, Safety and Environmental teams across the HPC project.
• Support environmental incident management and emergency preparedness.
