Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Commissioning Environmental Engineer to join the CommOps Industrial and Fire Safety team. You will work with Commissioning Delivery teams to minimise our environmental impact while enabling critical work on HPC.

The role requires a degree in an environment discipline and strong communication skills. You will create and review environmental safety controls, risk assessments, reports and regulatory interfaces.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an environment related discipline
• Excellent communication skills with ability to network within EDF (in HTML context)
• Experience or understanding of environmental compliance in a regulated industry
• Experience writing, implementing or reviewing environmental specifications and risk assessments
• Knowledge of UK environmental permitting and waste management framework
• Knowledge of groundwater, surface water and soil assessment and monitoring
• Ability to present complex data clearly and produce quality records/reports

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and improve Environmental Safety controls across the commissioning programme
• Assist in monitoring and reviewing environmental activities per HPC Safety Management System
• Produce environmental safety performance reports and trends for management
• Engage with the commissioning programme on environmental issues and risks
• Support regulatory interfaces
• Undertake risk-based assessments and environmental inspections
• Provide assurance on compliance with applicable legal duties
• Be an active member of the HPC environmental community
• Support Emergency Preparedness and environmental incident management
