Job summary

Dats Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in London with a hybrid work pattern (2 days in the office, 3 days remotely). The role focuses on challenging offshore/FPSO projects in the oil & gas sector, delivering electrical engineering documentation and interfacing with vendors and site teams.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in electrical engineering, knowledge of IEC 60079, and strong Excel/Word skills for technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Around 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar process industry.
• Good understanding of industrial communication networks.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 60079 standards.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience preparing technical documentation and engineering spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Ex equipment datasheets.
• Develop and maintain electrical load lists.
• Perform cable sizing and voltage drop calculations.
• Prepare and review specifications for electrical equipment and LV switchboards.
• Review vendor documentation to ensure project specifications compliance.
• Liaise with equipment vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support and interface with site teams.
