Job summary

University of Chester is seeking a full-time Disability Support Officer to join our Disability and Inclusion team within Student Services. You will work directly with disabled students and applicants to ensure they can access reasonable adjustments for living and studying independently.

A degree (or equivalent) and experience of working with disabled people, plus excellent communication and problem-solving skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent level qualification) is essential.
• Experience of working with disabled people is essential.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a demanding environment to meet tight deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of support for disabled students in Higher Education is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with disabled students to ensure access to reasonable adjustments.
• Support disabled students in living and studying independently.
• Collaborate with teams across the university to coordinate inclusive support.
• Adapt to flex across university sites with homeworking as required.
