Job summary

Leonardo UK, Basildon, is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer – Digital to join on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on shaping Future Manufacturing strategies, MES integration, and tools/systems introduction to support efficient production and quality.

Collaboration across UK and international partners will drive digital thread development. Key work includes MES architecture support, digital twins and simulations, and driving data-driven manufacturing improvements while aligning with

Qualifications

Experience with manufacturing data systems and underlying principles of manufacturing software.
Experience in supporting NPI Manufacturing Engineering Systems activities.
Knowledge of PLM, ERP, MES and QMS/BMS in manufacturing environments.
Ability to influence and negotiate using data-driven analysis.

Responsibilities

Interface with IT, Cyber and Future Factory Digital Lifecycle teams to support integration activities.
Engage with national and international partners on smart tooling and MES/CDE integration.
Support development of Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Repair elements of the digital thread.
Assist with MES solution architects in aligning MES options.
Lead integration of MES elements of the Smart Workbench as the Future Proof of Concept.
Provide data and inputs to aid Operations decisions and track external developments.
