Job summary

East Lothian Council is offering an internship for a Digital Communications & Change Engagement Intern, commencing 04/01/2027 for 12 weeks with potential extension. The position is hybrid, based at John Muir House, Haddington, East Lothian.

Qualifications

• A degree in any subject with a strong interest in digital communications, content creation and organisational change.
• Good written communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams; experience in graphic design, video editing, digital content creation, animation or e-learning authoring is advantageous.
• Candidates must be able to commute to the office at least twice a week and travel to other locations across East Lothian as required.
• A laptop, system access and a work email account will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging communication and learning materials to embed the change management approach.
• Transform the change toolkit into digital learning resources (e-learning, guides, infographics).
• Create animations, videos and visual explainers on Change Management concepts (ADKAR, CLARC).
• Support project teams with communication campaigns, briefings, presentations and newsletters.
