Job summary
Objectway in the United Kingdom is seeking a Development and Support Analyst to work in a hybrid capacity between development and client-facing application support. You will collaborate with business analysts, QA, project management and fellow developers to deliver robust COBOL-based solutions across our financial software portfolio.
The role requires at least two years of COBOL experience with embedded SQL; additional familiarity with COBOL.NET, VB.NET, GitLab, and financial systems is
Qualifications
- Degree level preferred, but practical work experience is valued.
- Minimum 2 years commercial COBOL experience.
- Good COBOL with embedded SQL.
- Business analysis skills advantageous.
- Strong communication; concise idea presentation essential.
- Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally.
- Experience with COBOL.NET, VB.NET, GitLab and financial systems helpful.
Responsibilities
- Hybrid role combining development and application support.
- Assist in producing detailed specs and programming requirements.
- Support dedicated customer team and participate in all aspects of application support.
- Contribute to unit testing and technical specifications as needed.
