Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. This role involves overseeing multi-disciplinary design projects across the UK & Ireland, coordinating with discipline leads, project managers and directors to build project teams and deliver complex infrastructure initiatives.

You will manage the lifecycle from concept through FEED and detailed engineering, ensuring safety, sustainability and quality standards, while guiding client engagements

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or power systems engineering.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary design projects for UK & Ireland clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design projects across the UK & Ireland, coordinating discipline leads and directors.
• Act as Technical Project Manager for multi-disciplinary design scopes (substations, cables, protection, civils).
• Lead lifecycle from concept to completion, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure design submissions meet codes and client requirements; manage cost and schedule.
