Job summary

Humand Talent is seeking a Database and Systems Engineer to join the Technology team. The role spans database administration, systems engineering and cloud technologies to ensure reliability, performance and continuous improvement across on‑prem and AWS environments.

You will own MySQL, SQL Server and PostgreSQL estates, optimize performance, manage Linux/Windows servers and VMware, and develop cloud skills with training and support provided. This hybrid role offers growth and impact.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple database engines (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) in clustered or HA setups.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python) and automation mindset.
• Experience with AWS is beneficial.
• Ability to implement backup and DR strategies.
• Strong monitoring/observability mindset with tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize diverse database estates across on‑prem and AWS.
• Manage Linux/Windows servers and VMware virtualisation.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and automation via IaC.
• Lead incident response and disaster recovery exercises.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve platform reliability.
