Job summary

Asda House in Leeds is seeking a Data Solution Architect to shape data strategy and deliver secure, scalable data solutions across the business. You will lead end-to-end data architecture for initiatives, align with enterprise data strategy, and collaborate with engineering, product and analytics teams.

The role requires attendance at Asda House with a minimum of three days per week in Leeds, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, discretionary bonus and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with business, technology and data stakeholders.
• Proven design of scalable data architectures on major cloud platforms.
• Strong architecture and solution design skills including current-state assessment.
• Knowledge of modern data platforms, data ingestion, storage, governance and analytics.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical designs and documentation.
• Experience producing high‑level designs, artefacts and data flows.
• Understanding of data integration, observability, resilience and non‑functional requirements.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture for data initiatives.
• Shape data solutions aligned with enterprise data strategy and standards.
• Act as architecture lead for major data initiatives with engineering, product and business teams.
• Translate requirements into high‑level designs, data flows and integration approaches.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns and standards to accelerate delivery.
• Support programmes from discovery through design, build and production transition.
• Champion best practice across data architecture, governance, security and compliance.
• Contribute to evolution of Asda's enterprise data capabilities.
