Job summary

Hiscox Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to work within a core team of data scientists, engineers and analysts. The role emphasizes end-to-end data solutions, production ML models and collaboration with pricing and decisioning teams.

Strong Python and ML framework experience are essential, with a focus on delivering value and scalable analytics. You will operate in small agile-like teams with a 2-week review cycle, and hybrid working with up to 2 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in engineering, mathematics, physics or statistics.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML libraries.
• Experience deploying models in cloud environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD.
• Experience with neural networks and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow/PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Apply data science lifecycle principles to new projects (design, analysis, deployment, monitoring).
• Contribute to production data science models and manage their lifecycle.
• Work on end-to-end data solutions using ML techniques to derive insights.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers and pricing teams to mature analytics practices.
• Write high-quality Python code for model training and deployment.
• Clearly articulate findings to stakeholders and communicate advances.
