Job summary

CMSPI is seeking a Data Engineer in Manchester with hybrid working. You will shape the payments intelligence platform, designing secure data retrieval and ingestion and building analytics workflows for client onboarding.

You will work in a cross-functional squad, turning business requirements into maintainable solutions and adopting modern engineering practices and technologies. The role emphasizes scalable, secure data solutions.

Qualifications

• You are a data engineer with a track record delivering scalable data solutions.
• Experience building ETL/ELT workflows for analytics using Spark or Hadoop.
• Strong Azure experience across DevOps/CI/CD, data services and security.
• Databricks experience with notebooks, workflows and Delta Lake.
• Advanced Python skills with reusable libraries and modern coding practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
• Desirable: Agile squads, Terraform/Bicep, Docker/Kubernetes, YAML.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative, scalable, secure data solutions for CMSPI's platform.
• Design architectures across APIs, web scrapers, and SFTP with focus on security and performance.
• Onboard client data efficiently and contribute to new data features.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders in an agile squad.
• Maintain high code quality with testing, CI, and reviews.
• Help shape the data platform using tools like Databricks AI Gateway.
• Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups, flag blockers early.
