Job summary

Royal London is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Core Engineering Team within the Group Data & AI Office. The role focuses on building data pipelines, managing data sources, and enabling analytics and data science across the business.

You will prototype data solutions, productionise pipelines with CI/CD, and collaborate with stakeholders across technology and business teams to maintain high standards in data engineering practices.

Qualifications

• : Experience in data engineering and data management design patterns such as data lakes and data warehouses.
• : Experience with SQL, Python and PySpark in data engineering contexts.
• : Knowledge of versioning tools (GitHub) and work tracking tools (Azure DevOps).
• : Familiar with cloud-based data/analytics tech (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory/Fabric).
• : Cross-functional project collaboration and stakeholder management.
• : BI/analytics tool familiarity (PowerBI, Tableau, R).
• : MS SQL Server tech (T-SQL, SSIS).
• : Understanding of data science and software engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• : Source, transform and prepare high quality data for analytics, BI, and data science use cases.
• : Manage multiple data sources and ensure data quality.
• : Design and develop efficient data pipelines across on-prem and cloud.
• : Prototype solutions to test business hypotheses in agile style.
• : Productionise pipelines with CI/CD for consumption by data science/visualisation teams.
• : Maintain awareness of data engineering and ML engineering practices.
