Job summary

Softcat is seeking a Chief Technologist to own the technology decisions for our Cyber Security proposition. You will set a clear vision, build trust with colleagues, customers and partners, and drive engagement across Softcat’s business lines.

You will collaborate with OCTO to ensure short-term effectiveness and long-term success while shaping cross-sell opportunities across workspace, networking, data, automation and AI.

Qualifications

• Extensive cyber security knowledge and leadership experience.
• Creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, advanced problem solving and drive.
• Energising collaborative team player and relationship builder.
• Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise effectively.
• Outstanding public speaker with credibility in front of business and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Acting as an ambassador for Softcat's values (passion, fun, intelligence, responsibility, and community).
• Providing technology market insights and guidance for the Cyber Security TTC and leadership teams.
• Identifying common customer problems and opportunities for adoption of technology and services.
• Selecting products and services addressing those problems; engaging technical and business audiences.
• Uncovering opportunities and identifying clear outcomes and success criteria.
