Job summary

Citizens Advice LeicesterShire is seeking a Resilience Coach in Leicestershire to join our Crisis Resilience Team. You’ll provide trauma-informed coaching alongside practical money, debt, benefits and housing support, building clients’ confidence over time in a hybrid working environment.

You’ll develop personal plans with clients, help maximise income, manage debt, secure stable housing and maintain meticulous case records while fostering wellbeing and resilience.

Qualifications

• You believe in what Citizens Advice LeicesterShire stands for and want to help people build better futures.
• You’re warm, patient and non-judgmental, and a good listener who can pick out what matters most, even when someone is in distress.
• You communicate clearly, whether face to face, on the phone, online or by email.
• You’re comfortable with numbers, including percentages, and confident using IT, particularly Google Workspace.
• You’re organised, can plan your own work and keep good records.
• You can manage emotionally demanding work and know how to look after your own wellbeing, with support.
• You’re keen to learn and happy to complete the Certificate in General Advice (full training provided). Experience of advice work, benefits or debt support is a bonus, but not essential

Responsibilities

• Supporting your own group of clients over time, building trusting, supportive relationships.
• Creating a personal plan with each client outlining goals and steps to reach them.
• Ensuring clients receive all entitled income, including checking benefits and helping with claims/appeals.
• Assisting with budgeting, debt management and money skills.
• Helping clients find and keep stable housing.
• Spotting when clients need specialist help and directing them to the right person.
• Reviewing progress with clients and celebrating milestones.
• Keeping clear records on the case management system.
• Planning your workload so cases move forward and close in a timely manner
