Job summary

IPS Finance is seeking a Cost Accountant for its manufacturing division. The role focuses on analysing and controlling production costs, standard costing, inventory and variance analysis, collaborating with production, procurement and engineering teams.

The position offers 3 days WFH, with scope to support month-end and year-end processes and drive cost improvement initiatives throughout the finance function.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
• Strong understanding of standard costing and variances.
• Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial and operational data with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyse production costs and provide detailed reporting and variance analysis.
• Manage and maintain standard costing, including direct materials, labour and manufacturing overheads.
• Calculate, establish and annually update standard costs within D365.
• Monitor manufacturing expenditure against budgets and identify opportunities for improved cost control.
• Work with operations, engineering and procurement to review and update bills of materials and production cost drivers.
• Prepare cost statements, financial forecasts and management information.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, including budgeting and standard costing.
• Reconcile monthly inventory balances and monitor slow-moving and obsolete stock.
• Prepare, calculate and reconcile margin invoice line reports.
• Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, systems and procedures.
• Develop, improve and support users of D365 Finance & Operations and other relevant internal systems.
• Complete account reconciliations and provide cover for senior members of the finance team when required.
• Contribute to wider finance and continuous improvement projects.
