Job summary

Daily Mail in London is seeking a full-time community moderator for the London team. This hybrid role requires 40 hours weekly with rotating day, night, and weekend shifts. You will monitor comments, apply house rules, and work with editors to maintain compliant conversations.

The ideal candidate has at least 1+ year of moderation experience, strong judgment, and knowledge of IPSO and the UK Editors’ Code. Benefits include significant holiday and on-site health facilities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in moderating for digital community boards.
• Flexible approach to shift patterns including weekend and night shifts.
• Understanding of legal covenants such as IPSO and the UK Editors’ Code of Practice.
• Knowledge of social platforms and how they impact reader engagement.
• Excellent judgment when moderating reader comments and enforcing house rules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor list of filed copy and judge the type of moderation required.
• Moderate reader comments according to house rules and legal requirements.
• Flag issues to senior communities editors and escalate as needed.
• Address reader queries about communities policy and comments.
• Create tools to boost reader engagement within articles, including polls and CTAs.
