Job summary

A leading financial services company is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join a growing cyber security team in Stockport. You will provide expert security guidance and hands-on engineering support across cloud environments, embedding security practices and ensuring resilient systems.

Responsibilities include tooling ownership, incident response, and working with architecture to deliver SOC capabilities while staying current with emerging threats and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cloud security and modern environments.
• Hands-on experience with attack methodologies and security testing.
• Experience across penetration testing and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of information security principles, frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own and champion the Cloud Security toolsets as SME; provide second-line support.
• Strengthen and evolve security tooling configurations across cloud environments.
• Proactively monitor security systems and lead incident response.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for configurations and processes.
• Partner with architecture teams to design and deliver SOC capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the information security posture.
