Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a CAD Designer in Glasgow to support its expanding Drawing Office, producing 2D drawings and 3D models for a portfolio of projects. You will ensure outputs meet safety, quality and environmental standards while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders.

With a permanent, hybrid role and a salary starting from £45,400 to £56,750, you will join a team delivering critical network infrastructure and supporting continuous improvement within the Drawing Office.

Qualifications

• Experience producing engineering drawings and models within a utility, infrastructure or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk design tools such as Revit and Civil 3D.
• Understanding of drawing standards, quality processes and health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across project teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D drawings and 3D models for transmission and distribution projects.
• Develop feasibility and detailed design drawings to support project delivery.
• Ensure all outputs meet health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Manage workload effectively and deliver work to agreed timescales.
• Maintain drawing databases and support controlled design change processes.
• Review and assess engineering drawings during approval stages.
• Promote drawing standards, procedures and quality assurance requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.
• Support continuous improvement within the Drawing Office.
