Job summary

AQA is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to turn complex challenges into practical outcomes within our education technology environment in Manchester. You’ll work at the intersection of business and technology, gathering requirements, shaping processes and delivering solutions that support the end-to-end assessment lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid projects, translate needs into user stories and test artefacts, and contribute

Qualifications

• Extensive BA experience in complex tech or transformation projects.
• Ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and strategic awareness aligned to org goals.
• Experience shaping outcomes via requirements, process improvement and design.
• Collaborative across multiple projects in changing environments.
• Proactive, outcome-focused and capable of driving change.
• Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience delivering BA work in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid settings; understands SDLC.
• Familiar with Azure DevOps, Jira and Confluence for requirements and docs.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements with stakeholders and tech teams.
• Translate requirements into user stories, specs and process maps.
• Support design, development and implementation of tech solutions aligned to priorities.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, including criteria and test scripts.
• Manage risks, dependencies and backlog priorities for delivery.
• Maintain project docs in Azure DevOps and SharePoint.
• Share knowledge and promote continuous improvement across the BA team.
