Job summary

Hitachi Rail Gts UK Limited is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to own bids from strategy to submission, leading cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time, compliant responses.

You will shape win themes, manage budgets, governance, and analysis, coordinating with capture leaders and stakeholders across units and countries to deliver competitive proposals.

The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on bid development, with a hybrid working pattern and an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Experience managing bids through the full bid lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Shipley and/or APMP Capture and Bid Management processes.
• Strong proposal planning, writing and review skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary bid teams.
• Strong stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
• Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and cost-benefit analysis.
• Knowledge of project and change management techniques.
• Experience identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
• Strong resource planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strategic and analytical thinking with ability to analyse customer requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate several activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute effective bid strategies and bid plans.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary bid teams across units and countries.
• Ensure compliance with tender instructions and governance.
• Manage bid budgets, forecasting and cost estimates.
• Oversee proposal development, writing and reviews.
• Coordinate bid governance activities and reviews.
• Plan resources and timelines ensuring on-time bid submissions.
• Support development of graphics and visual concepts for proposals.
• Manage risk and opportunities throughout the bid lifecycle.
