Job summary

Cyber Security training courses in Sunderland is seeking a Data Engineer to join a newly formed BI team that will transform how data is modelled, governed, and consumed to deliver trusted insights. The role spans data engineering, modelling and reporting end-to-end within the BI lifecycle.

You will work across data transformations, data pipelines, and dashboards, helping shape a scalable enterprise BI environment and supporting governance initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum proven BI/Data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills with large datasets.
• Hands-on Python and Spark experience.
• Experience designing dimensional models.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data transformations using modern cloud technologies.
• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform and load data from multiple sources into a centralised data platform.
• Build and maintain performant star-schema data models aligned to business definitions.
• Develop and enhance dashboards and certified data sources for business stakeholders.
• Support governance initiatives including data definitions, documentation, and lineage.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights.
