Client Server in London is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design and build high-performance trading systems and cloud infrastructure. The role blends backend Python development with AWS, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and containerisation, with occasional frontend work.

Based in London Bank office three days a week, with two days at home, offering a competitive package including salary up to £130k, bonus, pension, and career advancement.

Qualifications

• Advanced backend Python development skills.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and containerisation.
• Comfort with occasional front-end work.
• Experience owning the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
• Experience working in Front Office trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance trading systems and cloud infrastructure supporting Front, Middle, and Back Office operations.
• Work closely with traders, investment professionals, and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable, resilient technology.
• Take ownership of projects from architecture and design through to deployment.
• Build secure, highly available systems capable of processing significant volumes of market and trading data.
• Help drive engineering best practice, automation, DevOps, and cloud adoption.
• Influence the technical direction of the team and continuously improve the platform.
