Job summary

Brown & Brown Europe is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Hybrid role in Borehamwood. You will work in cross-functional squads to build and improve secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and live-service reliability.

This mid-level role expects ownership of defined DevOps work with support from senior engineers, focusing on automation, security and operational excellence within Azure-based environments.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in DevOps or cloud/platform engineering with automation exposure.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application environments.
• Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash).
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts and repeatable environment management.
• Awareness of secure delivery practices, secrets management and operational risk.
• Ability to troubleshoot deployment and service issues in a structured way.
• A collaborative communication style with developers, QA, Product and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve Azure DevOps pipelines for build, test, release and deployment activity.
• Support reliable and repeatable deployments across development, test and production environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using IaC patterns and standards.
• Work with engineering squads to improve deployment confidence, environment reliability and delivery flow.
• Help embed security, quality and operational checks into pipelines and release processes.
• Use monitoring, alerting and logs to understand service health and support incident investigation.
• Troubleshoot build, release, environment and platform issues, escalating complex problems early.
• Maintain clear technical notes, runbooks and support information for squad-owned services.
• Take part in planning, refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives, demos and operational reviews.
• Contribute practical ideas that improve automation, resilience, security and developer experience.
