Job summary

Brown & Brown Europe is seeking a mid-level DevOps/Cloud Engineer to own defined automation tasks. You will work hands-on within cross-functional squads to build and improve secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and live-service reliability.

Senior engineers will provide guidance as needed. You will contribute to automation, deployment confidence and operational readiness, while embedding security and quality checks across the release process.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in DevOps, cloud engineering or similar roles with automation exposure.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application environments.
• Experience with scripting such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts and repeatable environment management.
• Awareness of secure delivery practices, secrets management and operational risk.
• Ability to troubleshoot build, deployment and environment issues in a structured way.
• Collaborative communication with developers, QA, Product and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve Azure DevOps pipelines for build, test, release and deployment activity.
• Support reliable and repeatable deployments across development, test and production environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using IaC patterns and standards.
• Work with engineering squads to improve deployment confidence, environment reliability and delivery flow.
• Embed security, quality and operational checks into pipelines and release processes.
• Use monitoring, alerts and logs to understand service health and support incidents.
• Troubleshoot build, release, environment and platform issues.
• Maintain technical notes, runbooks and support information for squad services.
• Participate in planning, refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives, demos and operational reviews.
• Contribute ideas to improve automation, resilience, security and developer experience.
